Did you untar it from within the docbook-xsl-1.79.2 directory? (as it is
supposed to be done since all the instructions have to be executed from that
directory). To be clear: here is the sequence of instructions:

tar xf docbook-xsl-1.79.2.tar.bz2
cd docbook-xsl-1.79.2
patch -Np1 -i ../docbook-xsl-1.79.2-stack_fix-1.patch
tar -xf ../docbook-xsl-doc-1.79.2.tar.bz2 --strip-components=1
------
If you do not use "--strip-components", you end up with a directory
docbook-xsl-1.79.2 inside the one you just "cd" to.
