The book recommends Firefox-55.0.3.  I never could get it to recognize the 
system libpng (which has the apng patch).  When I was struggling that, I 
thought Ken's suggestion of going back to the 52,X.Yesr had merit, with the new 
security patches.  52.[68].[01] also had trouble with libpng, but it's small so 
I didn't mind it using its own.  Trouble was though, some websites crashed it, 
segfaulted libxul, reliably.  I took the problem to Mozilla, but got little 
definitive help.  After a week or so I gave up and went back to 55.0.3 which 
doesn't crash on those same pages.  60.0 is the next esr, but five of my 8.1 
supporting packages are too far out of date--I tried that one too.

So all I can say is, I wish I had the security patches but I just can't make 
the esr's work, so 55.0.3 it is.  FBBG, eh?
