My current machine rebooted a little while ago and when I restored
firefox it decided that slashdot.org was misconfigured and would not
let me connect.  Usually that also means that sourceforge (same
owners) will be inaccessible.  Before the crash, everything was
fine.

I have now apparently solved this by, in about::config, changing
security.pki.distrust_ca_policy to 0.
