I have been told that services are controlled by the OS and their priority levels can't be changed. Only the non service processes can be changed by the user. You don't need any tricks to change a tasks priority, just right click on it and change the priority level. It's not hard to do and I do it from time to time. Jaws if ran as a task instead of a service could have it's priority level changed though.
