Like I said, that caps lock/num lock thing is just the way we - in the old days - used to check whether the computer was trying to actually turn on, but, to be honest, if there are no 'fan' noises (while I do know some laptops are very quiet), it's most likely not booting up.
Also, in my experience, after a move as such, one of the internal components could simply have become dislodged or something simple.
