I have also done this, that is, scanned two pages from a book at once, but 
found it wasn't good enough to scan the two pages in their respective order.

I had to resign myself to covering up one side of the book with a blank 
page, and scan each page in turn.

A bit frustrating, but it did the job.

The only thing I had to work out the bugs with was the spine in the middle, 
and making sure that the spine was flat against the lens of the scanner, 
otherwise the words in the middle got garbled up, so that was my biggest 
torment, but it was easily worked out, once I flattened the book enough to 
scan it properly.
