I have experienced a problem with both a DVD drive and CD drive in which the recording function is disabled for some reason. Open My Computer, arrow down through the tree view to the dvd drive. Press the applications key and choose Properties. Use Control Tab to move to the recording tab. One of the options on that page is to Enable Recording. If you press Alt E you will find out if the check box is checked or unchecked. Make sure it is checked, then try writing to the dvd again. I have no idea why this happens, and have to go in regularly to change that setting. Blessings, Tom
