Hi, It sounds like you have narrowed down the problem. I'm afraid I can't help you anymore, because when I check the Enable Recording box, it stays that way for at least one round of recording. I only use the Windows XP built in software for recording CD's. Perhaps you could try writing to a CD with only the XP functions, and then you would know whether there is a problem with the CD writing software you are using. Otherwise, maybe someone else on the list has a new idea for us. Blessings, Tom
