FWIW, on both of my laptops which both have DVD/CD-writers in them, I put a
blank CD in, copy and paste the MP3/WMA files onto it while trying not to
exceed the normal amount of songs for an audio CD, then when I open that
drive, the CD-writing wizard pops up, and after closing the drive again, and
navigating around the first dialogue of that wizard to the Next button, on
the second screen thereof, after selecting the option to in fact make an
audio CD, it opens up Windows media player. I normally give it something
like 5 seconds to initialise, then tab to and press space on the Burn
button, wait another 5 seconds, then tab to and press space on the Start
burn button.

It does it's thing and after the CD drive automatically opens it's written
an audio CD.

FWIW, this is using a combination of Windows XP pro, WMP 10, and like I
said, a DVD/CD writer.
