Hello,
I am trying to figure out how to use the Count or Counta function in Excel.
I have a column of text where each cell contains one of three values. They
are open, complete, on-going, and are located in a specific range of cells
in that column. I want to obtain the total number of each of the three
values.
I have gone into help and based on what I read thought that the following
syntax was what I was supposed to use. , The result I am getting gives the
total number of cells in the range, and not the individual count for one of
the three values.
=counta(g5:g54, "open")
This gave me the result of 48, instead of 21.
What am I doing wrong?
I hope someone out there can help me.
Annette
