Hi David, the latest Thunderbird, 2.0.0.9, is to me more accessible than 
the 1.x series. Yes, there are problems with the composition window, but 
there are workarounds. Also, you can get scripts from the scripts page 
of www.jaws-users.com to enhance the functionality between JAWS and 
Thunderbird. I hope this helps.
