Hi Terra,
If the motherboard and the operating system doesn't support the 2.0
standard, useing a 2.0 USB card would be a waste of time.

Subject: [Blind-Computing] question about USB 1.1 to 2.0

I have an older computer that only has USB 1.1 ports on it, and was thinking
of getting a USB 2.0 PCI card. I have read conflicting information though,
and want to make sure before I buy one that it will work. I read in one
place that if your mother board doesn't support USB 2.0, that putting a USB
2.0 card in will not make any difference and that you will have USB 1.1
transfer speeds. Another article didn't say anything about that, and said it
would work if you just put a USB 2.0 PCI card in the computer. How do I tell
if this is something that will work before i buy the card?
