Many thanks, John. Some of the issues you mentioned with spy sweeper exist in superantispyware. I have to reroute the jaws cursor to pc cursor if I want to check on the scan in progress, but, if I just leave it alone to do its thing until the end, it works all right. I, also, use the avg antivirus but not the newest version 8. marilyn
