Hi Erin: Just before my post this happened, and my daughter was able to close the programs I had open. Does this mean the computer is out of stand by mode? Is the real test to see if a program will actually open? Finally, if you don't mind my questions, in your opinion, would it be better not to use stand by and not worry about trying to fix the problem?
