Yes, should be fine. If you're running XP, I think in the my network properties, there's a wireless networking wizard that'll allow you to in fact configure both machines automatically using something like a flash drive to transfer the settings automatically from the machine you initiate the process on to the other one.
I tried it with my two laptops, but I think the one needs to be reloaded 'cos they couldn't 'see' each other afterwards although it's supposed to a relatively simple process etc. HTH Jacob Kruger Blind Biker Skype: BlindZA '...Fate had broken his body, but not his spirit...' ----- Original Message ----- From: "David La Caille" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Saturday, March 29, 2008 7:42 PM Subject: Re: [Blind-Computing] lap top to pc. > ok but could it be done wier-les? > > David > Email: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Skype: thetruestar > msn: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Take a listen: http://www.live365.com/stations/highenergyfm > or visit: http://www.freewebs.com/highenergyfm > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Jacob Kruger" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > To: <[email protected]> > Sent: Saturday, March 29, 2008 5:20 PM > Subject: Re: [Blind-Computing] lap top to pc. > > >> Simplest is most likely a twisted pair network cable where you get a >> normal >> cat5 network cable with the wires 5 and 7 swapped around (think it's >> those >> two), and you can then assign fake IP addresses to both machines - >> normally >> in the range of 192.168.1.xxx, but obviously differing from each other, >> and >> you can then share drives/folders to be accessed 'via the network'. >> >> HTH >> >> Jacob Kruger >> Blind Biker >> Skype: BlindZA >> '...Fate had broken his body, but not his spirit...' >> >> ----- Original Message ----- >> From: "David La Caille" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> >> To: <[email protected]> >> Sent: Saturday, March 29, 2008 7:12 PM >> Subject: [Blind-Computing] lap top to pc. >> >> >>> hi all. >>> can someone tell me how to see my hard drive on my pc from my laptop? >>> i would like to use my lap top to see and use stuff from the pc. >>> without going on the pc. >>> >>> David >>> Email: [EMAIL PROTECTED] >>> Skype: thetruestar >>> msn: [EMAIL PROTECTED] >>> Take a listen: http://www.live365.com/stations/highenergyfm >>> or visit: http://www.freewebs.com/highenergyfm >>> Visit the JAWS Users List home page at: >>> http://www.jaws-users.com >>> Address for the list archives: >>> http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ >>> To post to this group, send email to >>> [email protected] >>> To unsubscribe from this group, send an email to >>> [EMAIL PROTECTED] >>> For help from Mailman with your account Put the word help in the subject >>> or body of a blank message to: >>> [EMAIL PROTECTED] >>> Use the following form in order to contact the management team >>> http://www.jaws-users.com/BlindComputing.php >>> If you wish to join the JAWS Users List send a blank email to the >>> following address: >>> [EMAIL PROTECTED] >>> >> >> >> Visit the JAWS Users List home page at: >> http://www.jaws-users.com >> Address for the list archives: >> http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ >> To post to this group, send email to >> [email protected] >> To unsubscribe from this group, send an email to >> [EMAIL PROTECTED] >> For help from Mailman with your account Put the word help in the subject >> or body of a blank message to: >> [EMAIL PROTECTED] >> Use the following form in order to contact the management team >> http://www.jaws-users.com/BlindComputing.php >> If you wish to join the JAWS Users List send a blank email to the >> following address: >> [EMAIL PROTECTED] > > > Visit the JAWS Users List home page at: > http://www.jaws-users.com > Address for the list archives: > http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ > To post to this group, send email to > [email protected] > To unsubscribe from this group, send an email to > [EMAIL PROTECTED] > For help from Mailman with your account Put the word help in the subject > or body of a blank message to: > [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Use the following form in order to contact the management team > http://www.jaws-users.com/BlindComputing.php > If you wish to join the JAWS Users List send a blank email to the > following address: > [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Visit the JAWS Users List home page at: http://www.jaws-users.com Address for the list archives: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ To post to this group, send email to [email protected] To unsubscribe from this group, send an email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] For help from Mailman with your account Put the word help in the subject or body of a blank message to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Use the following form in order to contact the management team http://www.jaws-users.com/BlindComputing.php If you wish to join the JAWS Users List send a blank email to the following address: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
