I just ran a security test on www.grc.com
using just my router and nothing else. The software firewall was turned off for this test and it passed very well I am glad to say. Now this only protects against incoming and not out going requests I must point out. For outgoing requests you will still need a software firewall and there are several free or low cost alternatives available. So I am feeling quite well regarding my systems security at this time, but make no mistake security must be of top priority for all of us these days.
