You can turn off check for Winamp updates at start up. Do a control P for preferences. I think it is in the general tab. It should say something like, check for winamp updates.

The Songs Of Zion Broadcast Bringing you the best in yesterday's and today's Gospel music. Not a lot of talk, just a lot of good Gospel music! -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Doug Leavens Sent: Friday, April 11, 2008 8:35 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [Blind-Computing] Winamp 5.51 problem When I launch winamp I get this fool update thing which wants me to download and install something called Winamp media player. To complicate things, when I'm listening to a stream such as ACBradio, and want to shut down by using the "alt-f4" combination, nothing happens. In order to shut it up, I have to go to the task manager, I think that's what it's called (alt-ctl-del) and go to end-task. What, short of going back to an earlier winamp, can I do? It seems that every time I upgrade winamp, I have nothing but problems. Thanks in advance. The first myth of management: It exists!
