I've experienced similar problems with an uninvited update window coming up. Mine doesn't give me a link to get the update it is so intent on promoting, nor will it let me use control tab to cycle into any other Winamp window. Pressing alt or the applications buttons does Not bring up a menu, nothing works in this update window. It will not close, even going into the task manager and entering on end task won't stop it. I've had this problem now for several months and through a few updates. As has been suggested I will check to see if my check for update at start up is checked but this is a true headache!
