Hi Folks,

Before anyone goes off on me for having the gall to doubt Google, I am very
confused about something.

I've heard all the chatter about 7.5 not being supported as of May 31 and/or
June 1 2008, however, does anyone else find it disconcerting that there is not
a single mention of this fact on AVG's website?

I just spent the better part of the last 4 hours looking for any mention of
Grissoft ceasing support for version 7.5, and managed to turn up zip.

I searched through the forums, the press releases, news, and everything on
their site makes no mention of 7.5 ceasing support on this or any other date in
question.

I am so confused, and, quite frankly, frustrated at the possibility that this
may be just a rumour, and we've fallen pray to this.

I understand that various users have gotten the message when downloading the
newest update from the update manager within AVG, but how many have actually
gotten this message, and was there a link within the notice that allowed you to
get more information?

If so, did anyone click on this link to get the more information, or did they
just take the notice as gospel?

Like I said, you would think that major news of this would be everywhere on the
site, especially if the company wants to keep itself out of court for any
possible lawsuits that may come about for not notifying the public of this fact.

Like I said, is it me, or what?

I know this whole thread has been talked about to death, however, I've seen no
concrete proof from Grissoft, and to date, everyone is talking about what other
anti-virus to use, instead of getting the facts straight.

I have two computers that I have to get out of my office, but I'm not going to
go through the trouble of uninstalling AVG 7.5 if I don't really have to.

So, can anyone, anyone at all, shed some light on this topic?
