Hi, The same thing has happened to me but think it is to do with the installation of Service Pack 3. I believe this is a compilation of all the updates we've had over the past few months.
I also had that thing about shutting down and updating on the shutdown menu but that's gone as well. I'm quite sure there is nothing wrong.
