Thanks Phani,

But that is not my problem. I have always had my computer to tell me when
new updates were available and then installed them if I wanted them. But
ever since installing AVG 8, those update notifications are not showing up.
The first thing I checked when I realized I was not getting the
notifications was that setting in control panel. Nothing has changed. I even
went ahead and changed it, closed it out, restarted my computer and then
went back in and reset it to the way I wanted it. No luck even after
restarting my computer again.

Ever since installing AVG 8, I've had several problems. I have trouble
switching between Email accounts, other programs taking forever to load and
start (if they ever start at all), and AVG not doing automatic updates and
scans as I had set it for. Have gone in and reset it to do those updates and
scans automatically and each time I go back in, it has unchecked itself and
won't do the updates and scans.

I'm waiting for the rumored Freedom Scientific fix to see if it will help.
But no matter if it does or not, AVG will never get another dime from me! I
have the full paid version paid up thru the middle of next year, but after
that, I will definitely use someone else.
