Couple quick points. You really will not get the full processing of a quad core because software doesn't use it accurately. Running Windows 64-bit would be better for this. Not sure about Jaws and 64-bit.
Also, on a Windows system, you will only get 3.0 gigs of RAM to show up. Windows doesn't allow more than about 3 or 3.1. You could use either a Mac or Linux system to use the entire 4 gigs. DDR3 is expensive and you really will not gain much of a performance boost. I would recommend checking out MaximumPC's website. They also have the "Maximum PC No BS" Podcast that discusses lots of high-end hardware. They are the experts. Check it out. They are not recommending DDR3 because the performance isn't much of a plus.
