Thanks very much. I have noticed this slow down slightly only when I open 
another program as in this case, my documents and then to a folder and then 
to a saved document. It all seems to take longer to open as if something was 
wrong somewhere, but it does open and I am able to continue working..
I wondered if that was normal or if there was a setting somewhere to allow a 
quicker response as when there is no scan being ran and then of course no 
problem.
Norton had this too but it was not as slow as AVG is.
I have been looking at scheduled settings for 4 types of scans which if I 
could get it all synced together at one time would be better I think.
But in looking at it and arrowing around it seems as if daily is the 
recommened choice, but I did make some changes just waiting to see how that 
works..
