We might be being a bit harsh in our feedback to these students.

There is a lot of technology out there but not  necessarily at an affordable
cost. A PacMate in the UK costs over £1,000 . The last time I looked at a
Maestro PDA GPS system this was £1,400.  This cost certainly puts me off. It
may be that the students in India have not researched their market, however
they may have produced something affordable. We should perhaps ask questions
like what benefits such a piece of kit would have over a Screenreader on a
pen drive for example. There may be an application that is not immediately
obvious, particularly in the context of India. I believe that the more
options there are the better.   

I think it is right we should feedback our experience of existing products
We certainly should not discourage attempts at innovation, particularly if
this creates low cost flexible access.

Chris, this doesn't even sound as advanced as the PDA or PacMate.  It sounds
as if It's just a keyboard that would plug into a computer port perhaps.
