Also Have you checked to make sure you have Jaws configured to have screen
echo highlighted for Word?

That is
Load Word
Insert F2 for configuration Manager
Select User Options under the Set Options Menu
Tab down to Screen echo and make sure that this is set to highlighted rather
than All.

Having screen echo set to All will produce the verbose results you describe
so it is worth checking.

Not sure if this will help, but try going to your view menu and then to the
toolbar submenu.
The only things that should be checked in there is standard and formatting.
Be sure and uncheck any reference to Adobe.
You uncheck the items by pressing enter on them.

Subject: [Blind-Computing] Default for Word.

Hi.

Can anyone tell me if there's a default setting for Word? I've had trouble
with my e-mail client and I've changed some settings within tools in word
accidentally. When I open up Word now, Jaws reads the menus EG file, edit,
view etc and then says something about Adobe PDF. Does anyone know what
this means or how I can get rid of it so that when I go into Word Jaws says
document 1, 2, 3 etc as per normal?

Thanks.

Sue.
