If you are using Word 2003 you can first of all change the default font to what you desire. To do this press control D in Word to open the font dialogue box. Tab through the settings to set your default font up as you want it. Perhaps Arial Regular and 12 point. Continue to tab through the font dialogue box until you land on the button called Default . Press space on this and then confirm to Word that you want this to be your default font. Tab to OK.
To set up your margins go to the File menu and then cursor down to page setup. Tabbing through the options on this should allow you to set normal margins. These are normally something like 2.5 centimetres but you can change it to what you want. Once you are happy with both font and margin the best thing is to save this as your normal template. It is some time since I did this but from memory the way to do this is to go to the file menu. Select Save as. Press tab to go to file type. Press D for document template. Press shift tab to go back and save the file with the name normal. Again you will be asked if you really want to replace this file.. to Hope it works. Aloha David, Pardon me for asking your advice on my problem with word! Whenever I go to print a document some how it leaves a border of 1.25 inches both top and bottom and with larger than normal text which should be at 12 by my understanding. I and others have tried to change these settings back to the conventional text and left and right margins including the top and bottom measurements. Can you tell me where to go to return the settings to normal? Hope you can help!
