Hello Lisa,
I am not sure about Smarfware, but there are accessible RSS reader around. 
The one in Internet Explorer seven does not seem to be very good. There is a 
set of programs that are accessible, for RSS reading, Pod Catching, internet 
radio tuning, BBC radio guide and so on. You can get it at:

If anyone knows a better piece of software, then, much better! :)
