If you listen to the podcasts on blindcooltech, you'll hear the guy saying 
he labels the folders.

I do the same using eSpeak to generate short naming wav files and then using 
NCH's switch sound file converter to convert them into MP3, and I just put 
each album/book etc. into a separate folder and make sure that the first 
file (00...) is the mabeling one.

I also use switch to drop the bitrate of MP3 files to 64kbps since when I 
tested it that sounded almost as good as higher, but it does lose quality if 
you drop any lower.
