No. Think of the deleted items folder as the recycle bin for e-mails. So once they've gone from the deleted items folder, that's it, unless the ISP archives the mail somewhere. Gmail does, so if you did lose messages you theoretically have a backup copy. I say theoretically as Gmail do empty your trash and spam folders every 30 days. Sorry for the bad news, but that's life when you're on the internet <smiles>.
