Allan,
Just as an after thought, you could use the text chat feature in the
meantime. if you've ever used windows live messanger before, and you've
installed dug lee's skype scripts, it works in the same way.

Aiden,
Thanks for the suggestion. Can you use a headphone & microphone combo if
you wanted more privacy?
thanks

Correct on all of those, and you won't necessarily need head phones, just
speakers and a desktop microphone, but if you take that rout, make sure
you
put the mike a good distance away from your speakers, because if not, then
the person on the other end of the call gets to hear their voice twice,
which i'll say from experience is extremely irritating.

Subject: [Blind-Computing] Getting started with Skype
Group,
I am considering downloading and beginning to use Skype. However, I know
little about it and have some questions. I do know I can go to the Skype
website and download the program which I believe allows me to communicate
with other computer users with Skype installed, correct? I realize on
probably needs some type head set with microphone. This headset would
plug
into both the headphone and microphone jack, correct? Do the head pieces
cover one ear or both? Would you recommend blue tooth. Anyone have
model
#'s and names of something they are having very good success with? I'm
assuming this program works well with JAWS as I know many of you have it
on
this list. Are there options for calling land lines or cell phones?
Could
this service replace a land line if one already has a cell and only wants
a
backup
thanks in advance for any feedback
Al
