I am not positive, but I think ActiveX controls are actual code embedded in
the document. I have only heard of this term in terms of embedded objects
in a web page interacting with a browser Add In. Does the Word document
have interactive elements like buttons? Yes, I think this could be a large
security threat! Be careful. Make sure it is a trusted source. Not is
Outlook Express possibly concerned about security, but it can not handle all
HTML features as a full browser would.

I'd appreciate a little enlightenment regarding a strange problem I'm
having.
I want to copy a Word document into an e-mail file and then send it.
1. After opening the file in Word, I copy it by using the Control A then
Control C commands.
2. I open an Outlook Express file and when I paste the document into that
file, I get a warning message pertaining to Active X controls not
operating due to a security setting. The warning goes on to indicate that
the document might not look the same if I continue. I have continued and
there doesn't seem to be any difference in the document I can find.
1. What is the warning talking about?
2. What are Active X controls?
3. How do they work and what do they do?
4. If I change my security settings on Outlook Express in some way, will
I be risking any possible manipulation by outside sources?
Stu and I talked about this briefly a couple of days ago but we didn't get
a rise out of anyone else on the list.
Now I'm asking specifically for help with this problem.
