An activeX control is a form of embedded applet within a webpage, so chances
are that there's some or other component within that word document that in
order for it to be implemented/pasted into an HTML email message, an activeX
control of some sort would need to be included in the source etc., and the
problem with this would be that some mail servers would possibly block it
because it could be harmful as such or something.
To be honest, I prefer sending plain text emails, so unless there's some
specific formatting you want to carry across/paste into the message, paste
content into notepad first, then try copying from there into the message,
and that should bypass the problem, or alternatively, you could either use
something else to generate the formatted content, or maybe just double-check
what content outlook express is complaining about.

Subject: [Blind-Computing] warning in outloos express when sending
documentfiles
I'd appreciate a little enlightenment regarding a strange problem I'm
having.
I want to copy a Word document into an e-mail file and then send it.
1. After opening the file in Word, I copy it by using the Control A then
Control C commands.
2. I open an Outlook Express file and when I paste the document into that
file, I get a warning message pertaining to Active X controls not
operating due to a security setting. The warning goes on to indicate that
the document might not look the same if I continue. I have continued and
there doesn't seem to be any difference in the document I can find.
1. What is the warning talking about?
2. What are Active X controls?
3. How do they work and what do they do?
4. If I change my security settings on Outlook Express in some way, will
I be risking any possible manipulation by outside sources?
Stu and I talked about this briefly a couple of days ago but we didn't get
a rise out of anyone else on the list.
Now I'm asking specifically for help with this problem.
