The same thing happens to me too.
I found out if I have more then one window opened.
What I do is close the other windows,then open word.

When I open MS Word Jaws normally says document 1, now when I open MS Word
Jaws doesn't say anything, but if I alt, tab there is Jaws saying document
1. I am running XP & Office 2002 Homewith Jaws 9 & 10. Could someone
please tell me why I am having to alt + tab to a different window to get
to
document 1 after opening and how to correct this issue? All advice will
