Hi all. I want to record my voice for librivox and the like. I would like to hear if anyone has any recommendations for a good mic that will not pick up background noise and that will also have a frequency response to make an audio book sound nice and warm, not too basy, but not tinny either. It doesn't have to be stereo or anything like that, since I'm just going to record my voice in mono anyway. I'm also looking for a mic that I can put in front of me without worrying about plosives, etc. I'll be using goldwave to record. I want to minimize any noise reduction type stuff on the file right off the bat. I know that cardioid pattern mics are supposed to be good for this kind of thing, but they seem to have a pretty heavy noise floor that would just get on my nerves, and so I'm sure it would bother others too. If anyone has any recommendations or can at least tell me of a good place to look, I would be much obliged. Thanks in advance.
