Actually, there's a workaround. First, close the Super Antispyware main
window and the preferences will suddenly become accessible using the
keyboard.

Personally I have found Super Anti-Spyware far easier to use than SpyBot
or spyblaster. You have to use the Jaws cursor in setting preferences but
apart from that the program is very straightforward and easy to use.
I understand that if you do get a dialogue box popping up you should avoid
clicking any of the buttons in the box. Checking this out on Wikipedia,
they
say that pressing even cancel or close buttons will actually launch the
Malware . The advice given is to press control alt and delete to launch
the
Windows Task Manager , select the rogue dialogue box from the list of
tasks
and then tab to the end task button. Restart your computer and hopefully
you will have avoided an infection.

Subject: Re: [Blind-Computing] Internet Provider Anti Virus Programs
I also use the Charter F Secure Suite. I think it is fairly easy to use
with Jaws but then after Norton I may not be hard to please. My concern
is
that When I run a scan it says No Malware found but when I open the report
it says that over 2,000 files were skipped because the program couldn't
open
them. So, there could be lots of malware in there, right?
I was doing something on the Internet the other day and all of a sudden a
voice says that my computer is infected with spyware and I need to
download
something or other to get rid of it, etc. I was freaked and closed
everything. Now, I wonder if that put something on the computer although
the F Secure says all is okay. But what about those 2,000 files it did not
check?
Anyway I downloaded Spybot and Spyware Blaster from the Blind Computing
website and they made me crazy. Will write about that in a separate
letter.
I used to have Norton and was able to use it minimally with the help of
Hot
Spot Clicker but at least it made me feel safe.
Any advice welcome.
Sherrie

Mike,
The program is called F-Secure and I use the program. For me, it works
well
enough. It is kind of hard to get set up initially and the pop-up windows
are not very JAWS friendly. It is very slow in doing a full system scan;
but
then again, my computer is only 1.8 MHZ. You have to use the JAWS cursor
to
read most of the windows; but, It is free and a full service internet
security suite.
