Well, like I said, I don't try using things like the cursor keys and shift etc., but instead type in start/end time values, and it does work for me.

Make sure you use Ctrl + F6 to get to the relevant selection area (might have to tab around the areas to find the fields).

I tried with audacity to do something like this and could not get it to cut
parts out of the file... I tried everything selection-wise. What did I do
wrong?

I do something like that using audacity, but it takes a bit of practice to
do it, and the interface isn't as simple as booksplit FWIW.

Stay well

Hi,

Book Split is OK for what I'd like to do, but I'd prefer to be able to cut
out a segment of an MP3 file at varying time slots in the recording. For
example, Book Split seems to have preset time slots whereas I'd like to be
able to take a segment of a recording from, say, 38 seconds into the
recording through 63 seconds into the recording, and in another recording
slice from the 17 second mark to the 43 second mark. Does anybody know of
any JAWS friendly software that can do this with existing MP3 files?
