Thanks for all the replies. It seems that the consensus is that Jaws must be running on both computers. In this case, that will be a problem, as the computers that will be supported have no reason to be running Jaws. It would be nice if there was a way to just run the FS video intercept and route that data to the Jaws computer doing the support. If we could get FS and one of the remote support providers to link up and work this out, they would definitely fill a niche market.

John,

I use Microsoft Remote Access along with Jaws 10.0.512U on my home computer running Windows XP Home Edition to control my work computer. My work computer also has Jaws 10.0.512U, but it runs with Windows Professional. Using Jaws, you cannot control a remote computer unless Jaws is also running on that computer. Furthermore, the home computer must be running Jaws Professional, and on top of that, it must have the remote access option enabled. This will add about $400.00 to the license fee for Jaws on the home computer.

Subject: [Blind-Computing] Remote Control Software with Screen Readers

Hi everyone:
Does anyone have experience using any remote control software with Jaws?
The scenario would be: a person using Jaws on the remote side would control a host computer which does not have any screen reader installed. The remote side (with Jaws) would be running XP. The host side (without Jaws) could be XP, Vista or 2000.
I know it's a long shot, but thought I would throw it out there.
Thanks,
John
