You may need to tweak your power settings. On the Control Panel, select
Power Options, and tab through the various settings on the Power Schemes
page and make any necessary adjustments to change the idle time before your
PC automaticaaly enters Standby mode. Gerald

Hello listers,
How do you put a laptop in stand by mode? The reason I ask is because
after 10 minutes my hard drive completely shuts down. Once I turn it back
on the windows log on screen comes up. I press enter and it goes to the
desktop. Even though I put the setting for the hard drive to never shut
down. I am running XP pro and jaws. Thanks
