I have the same problem with Outlook 2007 and the new JAWS update. any
ideas would be appreciated. In the meantime I will try a repair I suppose
as my screen echo is set to highlight. How do you make sure the JSS file is
being loaded?

I have checked the display settings. I will try your second suggestion and
see if that works or not.

You have to change with the change or be destroyed by the change.

Steve,
Check your screen display settings. Make sure that the only thing Jaws is
speaking is highlighted text.
It will automatically speak the character by default but Word highlights the

text as the cursor moves along.
I'm not sure that's what is going on but it sounds like it.
Secondly, make sure that Jaws is loading the Microsoftword.jss file.
If it's running on the default, that may be the problem.

HTH
