hi chris,
thanks for letting me know.
This is such ignorance on microsofts part. I meman whyx on earth force people to guinea pig their new stuff? I cannot afford to keep buying new jaws versions all the time . their older messengers worked fine, I had been using the one prior to this 9 version and now I am without a messenger, just great.
they just don't care, do they?
reagrds

Chrissie, I'm afraid to inform you that your JAWS version is far from
supported when it comes to Windows Live Messenger 2009. You need at least
the current build of JAWS 10, 10.0.1142, to use it. I wonder if David or the other moderators could upload the version of Miranda that is configured for
screen readers?

hi list,
is is terrible. I was just forced to install this new messenger 9 thing. I
wanted to add messenger to my notebook and had kept an older (8.5) installer
handy. I installed and when I wanted to sign on it refused it unless I
installed the newest one.
So now I am stuck with this new one and not a clue on what to do with it.
this is not the least bit blind and screenreader friendly.
I am using xp and jaws 7.10 and now cannot even get online to talk to my
contacts because this thing is so complicated there seem to be pop up things
and inside the messenger a thousand options that i cannot even find my
online contacts.
has anyone tried this messenger and are there any options in there to make
it more blind friendly and( or the best settings for it to work with a
screenreader
my sighted friend says it is full of new graphical playthings.
thanks microsoft :(
regards
chrissy
