It may be that you have a CD burner but only a DVD read capacity. Some
older drives did not have a DVD burn capacity.

If you do believe that you have a DVD burner you will need DVD burning
software. There is no DVD Burner included with XP . I would suggest that
you go to the Jaws User Programs page where there are several free programs
which will burn DVDS.

Subject: [Blind-Computing] dvd issue

Hi,

I have windows xp home. My d drive I believe is a cd/dvd burner. When I
put a blank dvd in the drive, it spits it out. I don't have a dvd player
attached with my computer but I am just trying to back up my system onto
dvd's. Do I have to buy some kind of program so the dvd's don't spit out or
something? I have tried the minus dvd's and the plus ones and they both
spit them out.
