Hi Kathy,
I tried finding a setting for Narrator in the Ease of Access Center,
But no joy there either.
I did find a checkbox after clicking the link for using the computer without 
a display,
but after unchecking this box, and saving the settings, followed by a system 
re-boot, still no joy.

Narrator is under ease of access  which is in accessories.
