Sorry, but I don't know the answers to your first two questions. To find out which version of Autosizer you have, launch it from the System Tray and press Insert-Control-V to hear the version number. It sounds like Autosizer is working properly.

You can verifythis by pressing Alt-Space while focused on any window to bring up theSystem menu. Arrow down to Maximize . If you hear "Maximize unavailable", then you know the window is maximized. As far as not hearing the ding sound, a few other people have reported this problem, but I don't know if there isa solution. Then arrow down the list to the Options dialog and hit Enter again. Tab to each check box and be sure it is checked. When you have checked all the boxes, hit Space on Okay. This will turn on all the settings for Autosizer, including the ding sound to indicate that a window has been maximized. Autosizer is a littleutility that automatically maximizes a window when it is first opened, eliminating the need to do this manually from the System menu. Autosizer can be set to launch automatically at Windows start-up, and it runsunobtrusively in the backround. You can even set it to alert you withading sound to indicate that the focused window has been maximized. Ifyou prefer not to install it, remember to always manually maximize the focusedwindow (Alt-Space, X) to optimize JAWS performance. This is especiallyimportant when using your web browser so that JAWS can correctly recognizeall objects on a particular web page. You can download Autosizer fromtheJAWS Users programs page under the Utilities heading. If you run JAWS10,you should download version 1.6, otherwise, download version 1.7. I'm not saying that atall. I still use it. Sometimes it can cause a focus issue and whenthathappens you uninstall it, & reinstall it, if Autosizer is the problemis allI'm saying and if there is a focus issue the only way to find out ifAutosizer is the culprit is to do just that. I really like this program & find it to be a very handy tool. Take care. The dates on the .dll and .exe wereearly 06 and untill JAWS10 autosizer worked fine. Now are you guys saying we no longer need autosizer? I installed it back when Debbie Scales was running jfwlite. Several people onthis list and the Jaws Users list have had issues with the Autosizerprogram, including David Ferrin if I am not mistaken. I am not trying tobash the program but, I am stating what has happened. All you haveto do isuninstall the program and reinstall it. In my personal experience Ihaveonly had trouble with the updated versions beyond version 1.6 and soI leavethe box unchecked for the program to update automatically. Below isa direct download link for the 1.6 version. Also Jacob, could you explain to me how you were able to change thesound Autosizer makes when it maximizes a window? My sound doesn't work whether that box is checked or not. http://www.jaws-users.com/programs/Utilities/AutoSizer1.6.html I hope this helps you with your focus issues. Take care. Often enough when I start outlook express, it initially says something like my first entry in the address book, but immediately afterwards, it infact reads the top message in the list, and if I hit enter on themit reads fine.Only thing I can think of off hand again is to make sure all partsof outlook express and IE are in fact maximised - Alt + space, and then the letter X.
