Same here Gerald. Sometimes I use it to click on the listen live links when I want a station run by unclear channel. SA to go does a better job with this. JAWS is my normal default screen reader, and I only use System Access to Go when I want to access a web page that JAWS has difficulty reading, or when I lose JAWS speech. So when I'm finished using SA to Go, I want to be able to close it and re-launch JAWS without having to restart my computer. But restarting my computer from the turn off dialog while SA is still running may be the only work around at this point as long as the tech guys at Serotek refuse to acknowledge this issue, Gerald ----- Original Message ----- From: "Simon" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Tuesday, June 02, 2009 3:08 PM Subject: Re: [Blind-Computing] Problem With System Access to Go What if you just shut down the computer like you usually would instead of closing that s ay to go -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Gerald Levy Sent: June 2, 2009 3:03 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [Blind-Computing] Problem With System Access to Go Nice try, Mark. But I know that Pressing Insert-F4 is the correct keystroke to close SA to Go because I make sure there are no other applications running . I have also tried closing SA to Go from the System menu with the same result. I hear the log-off message and then my computer seems to hang or get "stuck". When this happens, I hear a ping or ding sound over and over from my speakers like a broken record. Since my keyboard is completely frozen, I can't even launch JAWS or Narrator to get some speech. The only thing I can do is to shut down my computer with the power button and reboot. Fortunately, when I turn on my computer again, JAWS comes up speaking, and everything seems back to normal with no apparent ill effects. On my laptop computer I found that there was no insert key and so I had to use a different key combination. The other thing is that insert alt f4 may be set up as a hot key on your computer. This could cause the key combination to perform any number of things that wouldn't be what you wanted to have happen. I hope this helps. I was hoping to use System Access to Go as a backup screen reader to JAWS. When I download SA to Go, it works fine. However, whenever I try to close it by pressing Insert-F4, my computer always freezes. I hear the loggoff message and then a pinging sound over and over from my speakers. My keyboard becomes completely frozen rendering it unusable, and the only way to restore things to normal is to turn off my computer using the front panel power button and then reboot. It is as if my computer becomes "stuck" during the program close process. This has happened every time I tried to close SA to Go. I have contacted Serotek support a few times about this problem, but they never reply. Any ideas on why closing SA to Go would cause my computer to freeze? Has anyone else experienced this problem?
