I'm no way an expert here, but wondered if you removed your account in outlook express and then added it again would this sort the problem.

you can get a file from google help pages that has the settings already in place, all you need to do is in put your username and password for your account and the rest is done for you.

I'm sorry, I cant remember where exactly this file can be downloaded. just remember it is in the google mail help pages.

Every time I try to download my Google mail to OE as I have done every day for ages it now gives me an "unknown error and won't download. I double checked the settings on the Google and on the accounts section of OE.
There was some sort of Microsoft security patch
downloaded just before this started happening.
I am using Jaws 9 and Windows XP SP3.
I am desperate since all my mailing lists go through the gmail and I can't handle them at all online in any kind of efficient way.
