I had heard on the TWIT (This Week in Tech) at live.twit.tv that the free
product will be released soon. I believe it will be before July 4. So all
of you queasy about beta software should not have to wait long! I would
hope that when the released product comes out, that it will be available in
the UK and elsewhere as well. Of course, you need a legitimate copy of
Windows, so that leaves a majority of the world out. This a problem because
these pirated copies also do not get security updates through Windows Update
and are the computers easily getting and spreading viruses/malware/spyware.
Some people are complaining that Microsoft is not just bundling this with
Windows, so that it is turned on by default. I think that is obvious.
Microsoft would like to avoid getting taken to court again by the EU for
being a monopoly! Since it sounds like the release is imminent, I will just
wait for it.

Sorry I can't test it at this time since it's only available for US,
Brazilian and Isreali customers and I actually live in the UK. Glad all is
working though and I will sure test it when it's out for good. Good on you
Microsoft!

You got to check it out Chris. It is totally accessible and it has a lot
of great features. I deleted out Avast. I don't think there will be any
reason to go elsewhere anymore. It works great into the 64 Bit
environment.

Oh wow, so what is this Microsoft Antivirus? Will this be an option in
XP/Vista/Windows 7?

Yes I use it, it picked up 3 trogens off my machine so far.
As for the email, I am not exactly sure, I've been trying to find this
out as well.

I just downloaded the ne Microsoft antivirus. I am hesitant in
installing it. Does anyone use it? It is a public beta.
