I did some checking, and apparently, Talking Desktop Clock was updated to
version 1.1 a few days ago, so it's possible that some change was made to
this program that triggered this error message. The only thing I can
suggest is to remove the program and reinstall it again. Sorry I can't be
more helpful. I'm running Talking Desktop Clock 1.0.4, which works fine
with XP Pro.

Okay, first set up the voices interface. Go to the start menu and hit
Enter on Talking Desktop Clock options. Then bring up the View menu and
select Voices. Now you will be on the Voices interface. You select the
different voices by arroing upand down the list of voices, which may
vary
depending on your operating system and which synthesizers are installed
on your computer. It's possible you have only three voices to choose
from. In any case, when you find the voice you want to use, hit Enter on
it to select it. Tab to the three time interval boxes and check or
uncheck them as desired. Next, tab to Starting At. It sounds like the
list is empty, but if you press Insert-numpad 5, you will hear the
contents of each box. The first box is the hours, the second box the
minutes, and the third is AM or PM. Use the up and down arrow keys to
change the values in each box . JAWS will not speak as you up and down
through the list items, so press Insert-Numpad 5 after each press of the
arrow keys to verify the value you have selected. Do the same for the
Ending At boxes. Once you have set the Voice options, bring up the View
menu again and select Chimes. On the Chimes interface, use the left and
right arrow keys and up and down arrow keys to move around the list of
chime sounds. There are 19 sounds to choose from, and when you find one
you like, hit Enter on it to select it. Set the Starting and Ending
times
as you did on the Voices interface. Note that the Starting and Ending
times are in 12 hour format, not 24 hour format. There is no date

i found the talking clock and managed to go through as many of the
settings as i could
some boxes had nothing in them and although it said use arrow keys
nothing happened
so i am not doing very well at the moment
i did manage to get it to speak once or twice but not any more
and it gives a selection box for chime periods and all of those are

also it says i have a choice of 10 voices but i can only find 3 what
happened to the other 7?
it wont announce the time or chime when required
another thing is i set the time to 21 09 which it was when i set it and
set the date to 23 2009 but it said august and wont let me select June
oh how i need some help here
if you are on skype maybe you could talk me through it or can you send

step by step guide for me to follow in setting up and using the clock
one last thing for now can i get it to speak in the same way as the
computer built in clock or does it just work on its own at the chime

announces the time at quarter-hour intervals along with a
selected
chime sound. This is really useful when you're in the middle of
something and you're too busy to press Insert-F12 to hear the
time.
There are a number of different voices and chime sounds to
choose
from,
and it is very easy to set up.
