The only thing I could say or recommend. Save any download and scanning it before you run it. That what I learned the hard way. It doesn't always happen but somewhere along the line you caught a virus.

The cause of it was that the virus caused the damage. The virus erased all my restore points, along with a dialog box that lets you see past 5 days. He told me how I could fix that too.
