When I did an upgrade test on my laptop, it would appear that I meet the
minimum system requirements for both 32 and 64 bit Windows 7. It also stated
that there are no issues with both my hardware and software. Does this mean
that I could safely try out 64 bit Windows 7?

How about a duo installation. Put Windows 7 in 64 Bit. And if you have
an
old XP or Vista CD. Then you can have both. But I wouldn't do that
unless
it was absolutely necessary.

Yes of course, you can always do a clean install all over. But before
taking
chances I am just advising to go over your list of software and devices to
make sure you can avoid having to go back. Again since one does not pay
extra for purchasing the 64 bit O S no harm done really, to try but the
less
chances taken the less work you will have later trying to roll back by
reinstalling everything all over just cause an older scanner might refuse
to
work. This is just overall advise because there will be regular users on
here who might not all be running the latest of new devices.
Here is a link that adresses some problems on might encounter:

I mean so far I have noticed that their extra things in some programs that
I
have used. Alternately, the installation seems simple with Windows 7. If
you don't like for some reason or another then you could just re-install
the
Operating System to 32 Bit.
