I would go with xp on netbooks. The atom processor is especially designed for netbooks and was optimized at the time to run either xp or linux software.It may run but again you will meet minimum requirements at best. So personally I would stick with xp for it and then just upgrade to windows 7 in your more powerful other laptop, I believe it was? Regards chrissy
